Privacy

However, it is important to be aware of what one posts on social media content because there is a limit to how much privacy a user can receive. Social media sites such as Instagram, Facebook, and twitter all allow the option to decide how public or private we want our profile to be visible to others on the site but it’s never as private as one might want. For example, if we make our pictures private someone still may be able to repost it or tag a friend and the picture is now visible to the public. Another situation I’ve noticed is if I search up a product I want to buy, or a program I’m looking into, I will be on Facebook later and an ad will pop up of similar products or programs. The internet can connect your history to your profiles on emails, and social media, allowing companies to advertise products they know you were searching earlier. It may have its perks but it’s important to understand that one understands they must stay as appropriate on the internet as their environment may allow.
